standing there as I pack my things
I remember the day we met
in your black t shirt and jeans
you smiled and I knew

but that has all changed now
you have changed
theres no more affection
no more heartfelt longing

I still love you with all my heart
but it is time to go
we have changed
yes I know it hurts

but I will have everything soon
and it will be time to move on
my memories will fade
and someday you will look back and smile

you won't know why
but someone will say something
and you will think of me
that's when you'll know what you've lost

right now you only feel the pain of change
that will pass
things will settle in again
that's when you realize I am gone

when you wake up to the sounds of silence
cook breakfast
and there is no one to share
all that food you just made

when dinner comes around
and you sit alone at the bar
looking at a couple in love
then remember what we had

a tear falls down thinking of the good times
I don't want it to be over either
but I can't change things

that is everything
my bags are all packed

the heart it unlocks is broken anyways
